Admissions

Welcome to the Mountain!

The moment you drive on to our beautiful 88 acre campus you will see what makes Oak Mountain Academy such a
special place.  Whether it is the laughter from our Lower School, the sound of music from our growing Chamber
Orchestra, or the cheers from a victorious sports team, OMA is a remarkable place filled with bright and happy children.

For over 50 years, Oak Mountain Academy has educated children in the west Georgia area.  Our graduates can now be found working,
living, and thriving all over the country.  From the glitter of Los Angeles to the rolling hills of Kentucky, our Warriors are making a difference in their communities, and it all started on a beautiful campus nestled in the hills of Carroll County.

Oak Mountain Academy is the result of a local Presbyterian minister’s dream of a school that would offer its students an excellent education and still allow them to hold on to strong moral values in a family environment.  The Reverend Mr. Richard Flinn once wrote: “Sound learning must be
joined with high morality and spiritual commitment to produce an excellent person, the useful and responsible citizen, a noble human being.”  Through almost 50 years of growth and change, OMA has continued to focus on the vision set forth by The Reverend Mr. Flinn.

To capture and convey the true character of a school like Oak Mountain Academy through words and photos is a challenge.  To fully appreciate the wonderful experience that is Oak Mountain Academy, you are invited to visit the campus and see first-hand what OMA is all about.  Friendships that last a lifetime, teachers who make a difference, pride in and loyalty to the traditions celebrated over the past 50 years:  these are the hallmarks of an OMA education.

We invite you to schedule a time to visit our school and see, first hand, what we have to offer our students.  In addition to a tour of the campus, the Admission Office is happy to arrange for parents to visit classes and talk to appropriate teachers and administrators.

Students are selected for admission to Oak Mountain Academy based on a variety of factors.  For a complete outline of our application process, please download the forms on this website, or contact Rhyne Owenby, Director of Admissions, at (770) 834-6651.

Come and explore the benefits of an Oak Mountain education.  We look forward to seeing you “on the Mountain.”
