Dear Friends,
Together, we can... and did...make so many dreams possible for Oak Mountain Academy during the 2008-2009 school year. Despite some obstacles, we persevered and continued to support the school that means so much to each of us. Together, we have worked to provide our children with all of the tools they will need to go out into the world and become successful, responsible citizens in our community and the greater global community.
We are all so proud of the accomplishments of our students. One hundred percent of the Class of 2009 were college bound this fall with SAT scores that were significantly higher than both the state and national averages. Our graduates have a combined average score of 1,159 on the math and verbal sections of the SAT, which colleges and universities use for admissions purposes. The state of Georgia's combined average in reading and math is, by comparison, 980 and the national average is 1,016. The graduates also performed exceptionally when including the writing section of the SAT, as the class of 2009 has a combined average score of 1,643 compared to a national combined average of 1,509 and the Georgia combined average of 1,459.
At OMA, through the generous donations of our family and friends, we have been able to reduce our annual budget without having to cut a single educational program. I would like to thank you for joining together with Oak Mountain Academy to pave the way for our future success. We hope that you will prayerfully consider contributing to our school and the future of each of our students during this year's Annual Fund Drive. Together, we can make a difference.
