3-Year Old – Pre-Kindergarten Program for 2012-2013

3-Year Old Pre-Kindergarten Program
2012-2013 Academic Year

It has been noted that the path to college begins in pre-school.  This is a path where light and learning meet and where fascination and foundation make the way smooth.  This is a path the Oak Mountain Academy treasures deeply.  Here, the education of pre-school children is fully immersed in love, in play, and in exploring the world around them.

Oak Mountain Academy has created a nurturing environment where the parent and teacher collaborate in a traditional school setting to give the 3-year-old child a remarkable first school experience.  Through group cooking activities, music, movement, art, and foreign language, Oak Mountain Academy goes above and beyond to ensure a pre-school year like no other.  By limiting our class size, we can provide children and their parents with unique opportunities such as a transition week at the start of the school year for parents and children.  We also strongly value communication and put an emphasis on consistent, detailed parent/teacher communication,

Our curriculum is age appropriate and aligned with the 4-year program to ensure a smooth transition to pre-kindergarten.  Most importantly, we believe children learn from play, and at OMA, they will always be encouraged and allowed to do so.  It is a privilege to educate the young child, and we cherish and value each opportunity.

The Georgia Private School Tax Credit – SSO of America

The Georgia Private School Tax Credit – SSO of America

In May 2008, the Georgia state legislature passed a bill called The Georgia Private School Tax Credit (HB1133).  This bill allotted $50 million per calendar year of state income tax money to be used for private school scholarships.  Individuals and companies paying Georgia income tax are allowed to donate to private schools and receive dollar for dollar credit off of their Georgia Income Tax making the cost of the donation essentially zero.

Through this program, it is possible to have 100% of your child’s tuition paid for while every dollar is reimbursed to donors by the state of Georgia.  This is an exciting opportunity for our school and our families.  In order to take advantage of this opportunity for the 2011-2012 school year, families must act quickly.  Please see the attached brochure for more information as well as all of the forms you will need to take advantage of this program.  If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Rhyne Owenby, Director of Development,  at 770-834-6651.

Support OMA!

OMA is pleased to be participating in SchoolStore.com, an online shopping mall with over 200 merchants including Sears, Kohl’s, Target, Office Depot, Walmart, Toys “R” Us, Family Book Store and many more.  When our family and friends make everyday purchases from their favorite stores — OMA Earns Money!

A new feature has been added to the SchoolStore.com site that enables OMA supporters to donate a Gift Card to a particular students classroom.  The student’s teacher can then select from over 250 magazines, Accelerated Reader books and classroom supplies.  Just click on the Caring for Kids icon to get all of the information on how you can support our wonderful teachers.
